<h2 style="font-style:italic; text-align:center">CENTRAL LIBRARY (FULLY AUTOMATED)</h2> <img alt="" src="images/uploads/ranganathan.jfif" style="border-style:solid; border-width:8px; float:left; height:266px; margin:5px; width:190px" />To create learning ambience more prominently and explicitly the central library of Khatra Adibasi Mahavidyalaya has been established. Initially, it was housed in a small room adjoining the staff room.New building Sadhu Ram Chand Bhavan was established in the year 2006. It was the creed and need of academic minds that geared up the dream of making a good and enriched library very fast. Our central library is open on every working day from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. The library has a stock of 33,807 books and 05 journals subscribed for. We also have subscribed to the NLIST-INFLIBNET program to be enriched with ample amount of e-contents.Except college fund our institution purchases books from different grants such as RUSA grants and different government grants. During the last three years. 3451 books are added and there is plan to add some more journals. Recently our library has become two storied with a large area above 4500sq.ft. We have a full-time librarian,a contractual library assistant and a full-time library peon. The sitting capacity in the library room is 30. On an average 90 books are issued and 50 books are returned per day. Due to COVID pandemic situation last two years issue return rate is not so high. Recently we have created a portal of our central library though the works in the portal is still ongoing on. On average 05 faculty members and 15 Students visit the library every day. There are 10 computers in the library is in active mode. We have books of different departments and subjects such as Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Pol. Sc, Physical Education, Commerce, Philosophy, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Santali, Environment Science, Computer Science, Geography, Music, Library Science, Education and Reference Books (including Minor Research Project). We have four large stack rooms and different toilets for staff and students.
