Department of Chemistry, part of the umbrella basic sciences department offers holistic training and a conducive environment for Undergraduate education. Department of chemistry was established in the academic year 2008, initially it started with general course and in the year of 2016, college received grants from UGC and new building Acharya Bhaban was constructed and full-fledged honours programme started with sophisticated laboratory equipment’s based on departmental requirements.

Department of Chemistry is comparatively spacious comprising of two large Honours Laboratories and two General Laboratories, all well-equipped with necessary apparatus, chemicals and instruments.          

The department is privileged to have two permanent and two state aided college teachers with their expertise spanning diverse areas chemistry. Department of Chemistry is a well-equipped undergraduate department with 15 student uptake capacity in each year which fulfilled the local as well as surrounding demand of the subject. The department has an adequate number of efficient and competent faculties who cater the academic needs of the talented students.
